{1} She has a thing with numbers. I admit, she gets this weirdo thing from me, but I don't think I was this young when it started. (And I never told anyone about it.) Examples of this quirk include her favorite times on the clock are 12:34, 1:23, and 6:52. (This is because they are in order and the last number is Ashton's phone prefix) She also looks at things and adds or subtracts to come up with different answers. Example: when she sees something like a house number or phone number that are 336, she'll say, "3 + 3 = 6" or the number 248, she tells me, "Add the 2 four times and you'll get the 8." Can anyone say, "OCD?"
{2} If you ask her what her favorite color is, she will always say, "Rainbow. Except for black and white because they're too plain." (She really does favor the good 'ol pink and purple though)
{3} She is the TouGhEst little girl ever! She had 5 surgeries in the first 6 years of life. I know that others have gone through more than that, but that's her count for now. I always worried when she was a baby what I would do when she got old enough to know that she was going to the hospital for another surgery. How would I handle talking to her about it? It didn't matter because she was always prepared. (I get choked up just thinking about it.) She's the one who would talk me through it and make sure I was ready. On her last one, she woke up early that morning with a big smile on her face, clapping her hands together, saying, "Today's my surgery day!" What a girl!
Still smiling!
{4} She is such a girly-girl! If I'm not sure where she is, I can bet that she's in the bathroom putting on makeup or painting her nails.
{6} She started learning American Sign Language at 9 months old. She picked up on it so quickly and it truly was a blessing. It helped us all so much. She was asked to do a solo in our Primary program when she was a Sunbeam, at age 4, signing the song "When My Mother Calls Me."
{7} She is the pickiest eater - ever! She's getting better, but holy cow! I'm surprised she is as big as she is living off of hot dogs, peanut butter & honey sandwiches and chocolate milk. We have a rule at the table which is you have to try at least ONE bite of everything on your plate if you want to be excused. And if you want a dessert after, you have to eat every bit of it. She finally goes by the rules, but she is usually the last one done.
{8} She is very creative! She can take paper and create entire homes, fully furnished, for her little dolls. (I'm not sure why we bother with the big Fisher Price Loving Family doll house.)

{9} She loves her dolls. I don't know at what age they grow out of this, but she still plays with them often. She has all of them named and remembers their names by heart. This is really amazing considering she has about 15 Polly Pockets, (not all named "Polly") 35 My Little Pet Shop pets, about 6 Baby Bratz, stuffed animals and all of her Barbies, Hannah Montanas, High School Musical figures and little dolls that we have collected over time.

{10} From the ages of 3 to about 6, she had an entire make believe family that, I feel, she truly believed were real. This went beyond just imaginary friends. They were all related in some way or another. I always said I was going to make a family tree for her, but never did. I wonder if she still remembers. They all lived in a yellow house in Utah. Every time we went to Ogden to see family, she would look for the yellow house.
I love you sweetie! You'll always be my little girl!
