.:sledding:.

We finally got out the sleds and headed up to the "BIG" snow hill. We drug Steve out this time to show him what great fun it is! (Although I really should have known better than to think it wouldn't completely freak him out watching the kids FLY down that hill.)

So proud of this little guy for making it through the day in one piece! Only one crash...that involved tears.

This is what caused Gage's crash. Hayden felt she needed a snack after each trip down.

It was great watching [and listening] to Steve fly down the hill. Don't know how he stayed put in that little saucer.
This one has LoVe written all over it.

Hunter, catching air.
And of course, trying out the snowboard.
He's in there somewhere.
And then there's Tate the Great.
No, no, no. He didn't sleep the entire time. This was the only time he slept and it was only for about 10 minutes. Notice the bags under his eyes?

Bring on the Snow Hill

Last week, the kids were all invited to a sledding party with our "neighborhood" and we were introduced to the greatest snow hill. This beat the little 10-foot hill in our yard made by the snow plow by a long way! The kids had so much fun and I had a blast watching them. (I don't own snow clothes - that fit - but after this find of fun, I may just be purchasing...) The funny thing is, this snow hill is about 3-4 miles up the road from our house. Who knew? And of course we find it now that it's starting to melt. I guess it will give us something to look forward to next year.

It took Hunter no time at all to find the best jumps. It was hard to get a "mid-air" picture because he would go so stinkin' fast!

I was floored when Hayden wanted to try it, let alone try it on her own! Usually not her thing. Way to go Hayden!!!

The long trek back up the hill. They must have walked up this 67 times, I swear!

Gage went down with Hunter a handful of times but opted to play with the suicidal dog that would run down the hill with each sledder instead. I don't know how he didn't get run over. The dog, not Gage. Gage did get hit, but just once. He walked away fine. (That time)

Hunter and Gage took a detour through the patch of trees at the bottom. I yelled at them to bail early but they stayed in the entire time. Good? Bad? I'm not sure.

Hunter tried every sled......in every postion.

He finally got his turn on the actual snow board and made it to the bottom - still standing!

"Snow" Much Fun!

I know, lame pun. Forgive me...

I caught some awesome pictures -amateurly speaking- of the kids sledding the other day. They were all having so much fun that it made it hard for me to stop. (The freezing cold weather on the other hand, sent me inside.)

Accident just waiting to happen...

...and it did. But don't worry...

...Hunter landed like that more often than not

And this is how Gage came into the house at one point

Can't have an outside picture shoot without the snowy Tetons

And then this weekend was the annual Ashton Dog Sled Races. Hunter's and Hayden's class both got to "field trip" up Main Street yesterday and watch the racers take off. As for me, I'm glad that they go past our house about a quarter of a mile away. I'm also glad that my camera has a zoom on it. I get to stay warm inside yet watch the dogs go by all day.

Which brings us to Hunter's favorite part of winter...

...sledding down Grandpa Gary's shed. It's been a bit of a disapointment for him this year because we haven't had enough snow for him to go to the top. Yea, I'm really disapointed.

Same Spot, Different View

Look for our shed behind all the snow in the picture above

We may not have nearly as much snow as last year, but it's still enough for me!

Let the Holidays Begin!

Bring on the Christmas carols, get out the "real-Christmas-tree-smell-cuz-we-have-a-fake-tree" candle, find the Christmas movies on T.V. and start thinking about where all of the Christmas decorations are because it's here! It's here to stay...for about 11 more months! Ugh! But with snow on the ground, it just makes me feel so warm and cozy and grateful for my home and it gets me excited for Christmas....and then it can all melt again by the first of January!

Hayden is on the ground making snow angels & I really don't want to know what's going on in Hunter's head.

Really, anyone surprised by this one?
