The Tribute

I never really did post anything about the many, many things I am thankful for so I'm going to take the time now to pay a tribute to something that I am soOOooO very thankful for...

The place where I rocked my babies

The place where I fell asleep with my kids

The place where I snuggled them while watching movies

The place where Hayden slept every night for about a month straight

The place where I would lay my sick kids

You have your sitcoms where the wife hates the husband's chair and can't wait to get rid of it. Well, in our home, it's MY chair. ~Sniff, sniff. This chair was a Christmas gift from my parents when I was pregnant with Hunter. ~Tissue please. My Mom said that a rocking chair with low arms was a must with any baby. So true!! ~Sniff.

I guess that I can see why Steve is no longer a fan of my chair. ~Blow. After 11 years of service, it is a bit...used. I guess he has a point just because half of the ball bearings have fallen out making it not turn as easily as it used to...And I guess because it doesn't sit straight anymore & rocks in every direction, not just back and forth may have something to do with it. ~Sniff, sniff. I suppose that just because I assign only close family members to sit there when I'm "entertaining" so that no one else sees the historical use that it's had, could also mean something, too.

But just because it has tears on the arm...and back...and seat...and back corner, and well defined "butt wrinkles" where ya sit, doesn't mean that I won't remember it forever. ~Blow...again. Those are just a few of the reasons that will make it live on...somewhere else. ~Sniff. Another tissue please.

I feel special because I have at times been "assigned" the chair, that makes me a "close family member!" Woot Woot!

At first I did think it was a bit silly that you were sad to see "your" chair go because I thought, "hello, you are getting new couchs, that's awesome" but when you explained thatwas the place you rocked your babies it all made sense.

May the chair R.I.P

I love your new couches!! Furniture makes a place look SOOO different. Looks great!

I also have a chair similar to yours. It is a must with a baby. Especially a baby like Madison. :)
