After checking the weather many, many times for the past 3 days, we decided against going to Utah for the Hill Christmas party this year. There is supposed to be storm after storm coming in and we just didn't dare make the trip. Steve talked to his parents and they said they would put money into our bank account and let the kids pick out what they would like to have.
We were disappointed about not making it down there so decided to make the most of our Saturday. We started off with breakfast at Trails Inn and then headed down to Idaho Falls to let the kids pick out their things. HuGe Tip: Do Not Go ShoPpiNg thIs clOsE to ChrIstMas...on a SatUrdAy! (Unless of course you are a hastle loving person with an unlimited amount of patience!!!)
The kids each picked out their gift and have been playing with them constantly since we got home. (Giving me ample time to blog!)
Hunter picked out another controller for the WII and a card with WII points that you can use to purchase "classic" games such as Super Mario Bros, Contra, Double Dragon, Legend of Zelda, Space Invaders, etc. (I'm still trying to figure out if this was Hunter's choice or someone who's a bit more "classic" in the family...)

Hayden had no problem at all picking out what she wanted. She found the "My Baby Girl" game for her Nintendo DS. It's a game where she designs her baby, names her and then takes care of all that baby's needs. Looky there, she got part of her Christmas list after all! (Sorta)

And Gage found an awesome fire fighter set that is very loud! He loves it! It came with the truck, fire station and all the little parts that a fire fighter needs. He was asking me a question earlier and when I addressed him as Gage, he quickly told me that I was to call him "fire fighter" not Gage. What was I thinking?

So, it turned out to be a very Merry Christmas from Meme and Grampy! Thank you so much! Hope the family party went well!

That's too bad you didn't make it, better safe than sorry, right!?
We were in Idaho Falls most of the day as well, too bad our paths didn't cross.
Looks like everyone scored on their gifts!
Bugger about the trip but I"m totally with you on the shopping. I pretty much covered Christmas today. Literally. All today. And it was NUTS. It took 20 minutes to drive across the block.
Yes, we did miss you all very much, but totally understand and appreciate you would rather be safe than try to make it. Next year we will have it sooner in Dec. so the weather is better. I am glad you each got to choose your gifts and that you have played with them already. So what did Mom and Dad get? It seems that giving money isn't as fun for me but it seems to be funner (is that a real word?} for the kids to be able to pick out their own. Enjoy. Love you all muchly, Meme
Safe shmafe!! I wanted you guys here!! :) (...and I wanted to go shopping ;)!!)
...okay, okay...so I guess it's alright that you didn't white knuckle it all the way down and back...but we still wanted to see you all!! Thank goodness for the BLOG, otherwise we would forget what you all look like :)
Glad to see that you made the most of the snowy weekend though.
I always love reading your posts!
Fun for the kids and the "classic" to have some entertainment before Christmas!
I COMPLETELY HATE shopping when it is way crowded!
We sure missed you guys at the 'star party', but it looks like you guys had a great time and the kids got some fun stuff.
